3rd Annual Alt. Bowling Tournament

November 7, 2015 Leave a comment

Today Streetfront participated in the 3rd Annual Alt. Bowling Tournament at REVS along with 10 other VSB alternative schools. While we didn’t win the Bergeron Cup we had several strikes, too many gutter balls to count and a lot of fun! Thanks to Foundation Alt. for hosting yet another fun tournament and congratulations to Outreach Alternative for winning the tournament!!

I wish the general public can see these tournaments, the annual Arts Fair and Sports Days when Vancouver’s Alt. Schools come together because they would see a diverse, talented and energetic group of youth.

Students gives three cheers to our opposing team.

Softball is the first of several sports tournaments that brings together some of Vancouver’s Alternative School together for friendly competition. Our Streetfront students did outstanding winning the Junior division and second overall against the winning Senior team! Well done all!

This years VSB Junior Alternative was a smaller this year but the competition was still there. As usual we have strong interest in tournament play that we fielded two teams again – Team ‘Street’ and Team ‘Front’. Team Street dominated the tournament winning all of their games placing them in 1st Place. Team Front was in a three-way tie going into the finals but succeeded in getting a 2nd Place finish!

Thank you to Outreach and Eastside for your competition and participation!

Streetfront hosted their annual volleyball tournament. This is always a highlight of the year with over 100 kids in attendance, all vying for that coveted trophy. The competition was fierce with numerous games coming right down to the final point.

As the 6 game round robin came to an end we had 4 teams remaining – 2 senior alternative programs: Spectrum and Outreach and 2 junior alternative programs: Streetfront and Eastside. Once the dust settled – Spectrum was crowned champions.

Thanks to all the students and staff who made this such a memorable tournament.
