About Streetfront Alternative

Streetfront is a Vancouver School Board alternative education program based out of Britannia Secondary School in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Streetfront approaches education with an emphasis on physical activities and outdoor experiences. We offer classes in Math, Science, Socials and English for grades 8 -10. In addition we have Physical Education, Outdoor Education, Planning, Woodworking, and Foods classes. We run three days per week, with some students training for and participating in the Seattle and Vancouver full and half Marathons. We also spend approximately 35 days of the 190 school days in an outdoor environment – this includes the three four-day camp trips.

We have an enrollment of 22 students with three staff – a Teacher, a Youth & Family Worker, and a School & Student Support Worker. We have continual intake, to ensure we are always providing a sound education to as many youth as possible, but May is our major intake period for the upcoming school year. You may find an Application Form on the Documents page.

Our Streetfront video features students from a few years ago but the message and experiences attending Streetfront has never changed!
