Central City Foundation

Central City Foundation is an amazing community partner. They have helped us build an inventory of outdoor gear that kids from East Van can use multiple times over. Having the proper gear changes everything when you’re out in nature. Knowing the gear will do its job allows for greater and deeper exploration of the wild but also for the child.

A huge thanks to the Central City Foundation for their commitment to inner-city kids. We’ll be using the gear they supplied when we embark in one month on our next Street2Peak Expedition – New Zealand 2019.

Canucks Visit Streetfront

After our return from the bowling tournament we had our annual visit from Vancouver Canucks Rod Brathwaite (Manager, Community Partnerships & Hockey Development). Rod was joined this time by Alfred De Vera (Media Relations) who was eager to meet and speak with our students.

They left us with a gift of box seats for Dec. 26th game against the Edmonton Oilers. Thank you Canucks for this great opportunity!

Alannah Wong’s Holiday Gift

Alannah Wong, a grade 10 student at Streetfront spearheaded a wonderful holiday initiative. She wanted to do something for those in need around our community. With the help of her generous parents, we had $100 ready to donate.

Alannah knew that money donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank can actually be multiplied in value by the Food Bank itself. As is the case with Alannah – she wanted to make the biggest impact possible. She proudly donated the $100 and knew that her efforts would make somebody’s holiday that much more merrier.

Nice work, Alannah. Thanks for providing such a great example.
